This is a translation. Roaden is run from Spain and the Spanish version of this document is the one that is legally binding. It is at /cookies. This English text is here so it can be read, and if the two ever disagree, the Spanish one is the one that counts.
The distinction that matters. This presentation page is a commercial page and may carry analytics, always with your permission. The application, at roaden.app, carries no tracker at all — no analytics, no advertising, nothing. Somebody there is using a product, not visiting a shop.
Today, nothing. There is no analytics running: not one file is requested from a third party, which is why you will not see a cookie notice.
When we turn it on it will be Microsoft Clarity, and it will work like this: nothing loads until you press "Accept all". It is not a setting applied after loading it — it is that we do not ask for it. If you say no, or say nothing, not even your IP address reaches Microsoft.
At roaden.app there are no third-party cookies and no analytics. What there is, is three things kept in your own browser, without which the service does not work — the ones article 22.2 LSSI exempts from consent:
| riderapp.token | Your session. Without it we would have to ask you for a code on every
screen. 90 days · localStorage |
|---|---|
| riderapp.rider | Your alias, your language and whether your subscription is active, so
the screen can be drawn without asking the server again.
90 days · localStorage |
| roaden.locale | The language you chose. Until you change it ·
localStorage |
They are localStorage rather than cookies, but it makes no
difference: as far as the rules go they count the same, which is why they are
listed here.
The planner's map is drawn by Google Maps in your browser, so there Google receives your IP address and may use its own mechanisms on its own domain. It is still Google because the planner needs Places and Street View, which OpenStreetMap does not have.
The information about a place — the name, the opening hours, the photograph — is requested by our server, not by your browser. What reaches Google is that somebody asked about that place, not who.
The maps on your routes, on Explore and on meet-ups, and the
app's navigation screen, do not use Google: they draw
OpenStreetMap served from our own
tiles.roaden.app. Nothing about you reaches a third party there,
because there is no third party.
The hill shading on the navigation screen is elevation data we serve ourselves, like the map. Nothing about you reaches anybody, because there is nobody else involved. The data comes from Copernicus EU-DEM (European Union) and, where Copernicus does not reach, from NOAA ETOPO1 and USGS SRTM/GMTED2010, credited on the map itself as their licence requires.
We serve the typeface, from this same server. It sets no cookies and nobody else gets your IP: until 6 October 2026 we asked Google Fonts for it, which received your IP when it served the file, and we have brought it here.
Withdrawing permission has to be as easy as giving it. When there is analytics, there will be a button here that clears your choice and asks you again. While there is none, there is nothing to withdraw.
And in any case you can clear this site's storage from your browser settings.
If you delete riderapp.token, the application will ask you for a
new code, which is all that happens.
